FPHSA NEWS

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

💜 September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month 💜

At Florida Parishes Human Services Authority (FPHSA), we believe that connection, hope, and support can save lives. This month, we join SAMHSA in raising awareness about suicide prevention and reminding our communities that help is available and recovery is possible.

You may not always know what someone is going through. A simple check-in, a caring conversation, or taking time to listen can make a meaningful difference. Suicide prevention starts with connection. [samhsa.gov]

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call, text, or chat 988 to connect with a trained crisis counselor.

This month, let’s work together to: 💜 Promote hope and resilience
💜 Reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges
💜 Encourage help-seeking and open conversations
💜 Support those impacted by suicide and mental health conditions
💜 Build stronger, more connected communities

At FPHSA, we are committed to providing behavioral health services that help individuals and families find hope, healing, and support when they need it most. Together, we can create a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.
