PREVENTION

We at FPHSA believe that interventions need to start early in our communities and cultures in order to improve community health and functioning. Our prevention activities are coordinated with our community partners and include:

  • Life Skills Training in local schools
  • “Kids Don’t Gamble, Wanna Bet?” Program
  • Coalition building in communities
  • Educating and reinforcing Louisiana laws regarding age limits on Tobacco sales with local merchants
  • Coordinating local prescription drop—off programs for expired or unused prescription medications
  • Prevention trainings offered in the community
