June 1 marks the official start to Hurricane Season, making preparation essential. It’s crucial to create a plan, protect important documents, and stay informed about potential storms. Knowing your evacuation zone and having an emergency kit ready are key steps in preparing for a hurricane. A great website to visit is ready.gov.
In addition to the above named preparedness steps, it’s important to know your resources before, during, and after an emergency, so FPHSA has updated it’s “My Access-to-Services Plan for Emergencies” guide. This guide contains information on where to get your medications and injections after an emergency hits, who to call in a behavioral health emergency, and other critical information/resources.
