Florida Parishes Human Services Authority (FPHSA) Awarded with CCBHC Grant Funding Through 2027

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Date: October 6, 2023

On September 21, 2023, Florida Parishes Human Services Authority was awarded a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Planning, Development, and Implementation grant by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The CCBHC-PDI grant is valued at up to $1M per year through 2027. The primary goal of the grant is to transform community behavioral health systems and provide comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health care programs that will ensure access to integrated, evidence-based substance use disorder and mental health services including 24/7 crisis services, as well as to decrease wait times for routine outpatient care.

FPHSA will use this grant to further expand their operations to provide a comprehensive range of supports based on the community’s needs and enhance the provision of services towards supporting recovery for individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions.

“The funding associated with this grant will allow us to build upon the excellent work that is already being done across our region. These funds will be directed towards measures that will improve access to services and to improve the ability of those services to meet the needs of our communities. With the opportunities afforded to us through this funding, we will make substantive changes to the system of care that result in measurable improvements in outcomes for those in our region facing behavioral health challenges.”

FPHSA Executive Director, Richard J. Kramer, stated.

FPHSA is the regional safety net provider for behavioral health services and single point of entry for developmental disabilities services in Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parish.
