APPLIED SUICIDE INTERVENTION SKILLS TRAINING

ASIST is a two-day in-person workshop learning how to recognize when someone may be thinking of suicide, learn the skills to provide a intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support. You also consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide may affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it. This workshop increases your willingness, confidence, and capacity to provide suicide first aid. This is a community workshop open to anyone 16 years or older regardless of profession.

Common inquires may include:

  • Does it cost to attend? No! There is no cost to attend FPHSA ASIST workshops.

Other professions have the option of going through CEUnits site, and purchasing CEUs for a small fee. Information about this is provided at the workshop. They can also inquire directly through their professions organization.
  • Do I have to attend both days? In order to receive a completion certificate, the participant must be present for both days.
