Mental Health Services (MHS) is the branch of Florida Parishes Human Services Authority that provides and coordinates mental health care to consumers in the five-parish area. Services are provided at three full-service clinics (in Bogalusa, Hammond, and Mandeville) and six outreach sites throughout the area.
Clinic services include screening/assessment, psychosocial and psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual and group therapies.
Crisis evaluation and stabilization services are provided. When deemed necessary, clients are referred by FPHSA outpatient services to inpatient treatment. FPHSA itself has no inpatient psychiatric facilities; however, FPHSA coordinates services with the DHH Office of Mental Health acute psychiatric facilities, as well as other community partners.
FPHSA-MHS also offers supportive services for adults—case management and consumer care resources. Children’s services include in-home crisis intervention, family preservation, assertive community treatment (ACT), respite care, transportation vouchers, consumer care resources (CCR), family support cash subsidy, and interagency service coordination (ISC). |
